Setting up a home network..need advice

I am setting up a home network for an internet connection with 3 computers.

I will have a cable internet with 3.0 download speed. We currently have a 802.11B router. Is it worth it to get a 802.11g router or are those only used for higher speed connections?

Which network cards should I get?

Before you buy a router tell me do you currently have Vonage or any Voice over IP?

The reason I ask is cos I can nearly guarantee you that you can save money over a home phone and possibly get a free 802.11 G router... i know i did.

None. If you want to go wireless and your machines have no wireless built-in then get USB wireless adapters - less expensive, interchangeable and easy to install. The only consideration is if you have a Vista desktop then make sure that the adapter is "Vista Ready".

That was my next question. I am not worried about a little extra expense or ease of installation. I would rather have a better connection.

Adding. Has anyone heard about the Netgear Range Max routers? It says that it is 10x more powerful than a 802.11 G.

No, you will get better connection with USB adapter because you can position the antenna anywhere you want to get a better signal and you cannot do that with PCI.
